The implementation of electronic kanban in ONO modular warehouses
The implementation of electronic kanban in ONO modular warehouses
From an online demo to a revolution in materials management: the story of collaboration between ONO Lean Logistics and KanbanBOX
In the world of logistics and supply chain, the encounter between Thomas AMBROSI, CEO of ONO Lean Logistics, and Francesco DALL’OCA,
Managing Partner of KanbanBOX, began with a simple request for an online demo almost ten years ago.
The initial goal? To implement Lean Production practices in the company
then managed by Thomas.

An exciting challenge, a practical solution
The collaboration between ONO and KanbanBOX began almost jokingly, with a challenge thrown by Francesco to Thomas. Implementing
Lean practices in the world of vertical warehouses was the spark that ignited the desire to create something tangible: it was, in fact, the initial stimulus that led to the
design and development of ONO Lean Logistics Automated Warehouse Systems which, unlike traditional vertical warehousing solutions on the market then and today, is the only
one that allows the application of Lean Production concepts.
From there, over time, the collaboration between the two companies grew, evolving to give life to a new, functional, and integrated solution.
Electronic kanban was indeed integrated natively into ONO Modular Warehouses: the combination of the two technologies, ONO warehouses on one side and KanbanBOX software
integrated into the ONO|OS operating system on the other, creates a perfect blend of operational efficiency and advanced technology.
Who is KanbanBOX
KanbanBOX is Supply Chain Management software for Lean management of material flows in purchasing, production, and logistics. KanbanBOX integrates electronic kanban into business processes, improving inventory management, material traceability, and real-time visibility of the supply chain: it is, in fact, the first solution born in Europe capable of transforming the procurement process.
The heart of the two companies: Lean Logistics in action
ONO Lean Logistics and KanbanBOX share an identity based on Lean principles. Both embrace continuous improvement of business
processes, waste elimination, and operation optimization. These shared values have made it possible to create a solution that redefines industry standards.
In a few years, what started as a chance online meeting has turned into a successful partnership.
