The Company
UNIMEC Srl is a company specialized in third-party mechanical assembly. Founded in 1992, it began by collaborating with leading manufacturers of machinery for the flexographic industry, later expanding its expertise into the food sector. Its most significant partnership is with a leading manufacturer of laser cutting machines. Always focused on quality and continuous improvement, UNIMEC places great emphasis on process efficiency and customer service.
From Request to Solution
Before implementing ONO, internal logistics at UNIMEC were managed without a structured system: materials were stored in any available space, making their retrieval complex and inefficient. This approach hindered quick item location, caused delays in picking operations, and increased the risk of errors. The need to better control material flow, optimize inventory, and improve traceability had become a top priority.
The turning point came with the introduction of the ONO modular automated warehouse, chosen by UNIMEC for its flexibility, customization options, and native integration with KanbanBOX, a tool the company was already using for supply chain management. The configuration with opposing bays allowed for simultaneous picking and depositing operations on both sides, reducing the need for internal transport vehicles and improving workflow efficiency.
Thanks to ONO|DESKTOP, UNIMEC was able to digitize and monitor every phase of its internal logistics: from picking times to space usage, and even real-time control of picking lists. Picking activities are now guided by complete digital lists, with immediate visibility of missing items, helping to avoid errors and streamline communication with suppliers and operators.
Additionally, the integration with KanbanBOX now enables full digital management of loading/unloading operations, automatic label generation, and precise tracking of all material movements, something previously unthinkable.
The result? A significant leap forward in process digitalization, a major improvement in customer service, and accurate control over the entire logistics chain, from raw materials to finished products.
